I created this dish for my Jesus Tribute menu and it worked out so well. This salad was made to represent the cursing of the fig tree. Some commentators have used this connection to explain Jesus’ cursing of the fig tree as Jesus attacking that which brought sin and death into the world, and such just days before the Crucifixion when Jesus conquers death.

To make this Simply Quater fig’s removing the stems.

Then Roast pistachios for 5 minutes on medium heat

Then in a mixing bowl, combine the following ingredients:

  • 150g of goats cheese
  • zest of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup of double cream

Then Quarter Baby gem lettuce and spead your goats cheese cream mixture on each leaf and Salt

Then simply arrange your dish by plating your creamed lettuce, Figs, Chopped mint, Roasted Pistachios, Goats cheese, Olive il and Honey and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • Goats cheese Cream
  • 150 g 150 Goats cheese

  • 1/2 Zest 1/2 Lemon

  • 1/4 Cup 1/4 Whole Milk

  • 1/4 Cup 1/4 Double cream

  • Rest of the ingredients
  • 2 2 baby gem Lettuce – Quartered

  • 1/2 Cup 1/2 Pistachios – Roasted for 5 minutes

  • 200 g 200 Goats cheese

  • 1 Cup 1 Chopped mint

  • 12 12 Figs – Quartered

  • 1 tbsp 1 Extra virgin Olive oil

  • 4 tbsp 4 Honey

  • Salt to taste

Directions

  • Create the Goats cheese cream by whisking all the goats cream ingredients until you have a somewhat runny paste
  • Then spread this on the leaves of your quartered Baby gem lettuce – Try to get every leaf for maximum flavour
  • Salt your creamed lettuce and set aside
  • To arrange simply place your creamed lettuce on a plate along with your 1/4 of your chopped mint, 1/4 of the roasted Pistachios, 50g Goats cheese, 3 whole Quartered figs, 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil, 1 tbsp of Honey and salt and pepper to taste and simply enjoy!
